Citizen's Law Enforcement Academy
The Citizen's Law Enforcement Academy will introduce you to the agencies that serve our community. You will see firsthand how we conduct business and why. The purpose of this joint academy is to enhance, through education and hands-on participation, the positive relationship between our local law enforcement agencies and community. It is designed to give you a better understanding of the mission and operations of our agencies, to enable each of you to gain an appreciation of the current challenges facing law enforcement, and to offer you an opportunity for comments and suggestions in helping to solve these challenges. Your valued input will allow us to continue to improve on the services we provide.
Topics that will be presented will include patrol procedures, criminal investigation, jail operations, animal control, warrant service, and firearms.
Completion of the academy gives you, as a Law Enforcement Academy Alumni, a unique opportunity to assist our local law enforcement agencies with many functions where civilian participation is needed and appreciated, if you so desire.
The next Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy is right around the corner. We are working in conjunction with county law enforcement agencies to offer an informative and exciting 10 week course.
We offer the Academy once a year, and encourage the community to become involved in this informative 10 week course to help our citizens better understand the role of local law enforcement agencies.
